(Term 4 Wk 3, 22/9 - 26/9)

Surprised by the title? Well, I was thinking what was the most memorable event in week 3 and my mind was filled with the laughter from the class. Yes, LAUGHTER!... It has been a week of laughing. Lots of 'Hahaha.. ' and 'Hehehe... '. I guessed most of you have mastered the art of being happy.

Anyway, you have cleared one hurdle - Oral Examinations. Step up your gear and get ready for the next one - Paper One for EL and MT languages. You must almost stay focus and have full concentration during lessons and the time you spend on your self-study/revision. Seek clarification when you are in doubt. Leave no stone unturned (idiom).

Work for the weekend:

1. EL - Synthesis & Trans WS
2. MA - AB Pract 2 (Geometrical Construction)
3. MA - Topical WS
4. Journal - 'An expedition I plan for my friends and I' or 'Freestyle (at least a page)

Stay healthy during this time. You shall manage your own time after school and decide what you should do. Maybe I should be harsh in saying this... hmmm.. 'Stay clear from troubles!'.

Mood: Resting...

Come to think of it.. maybe our class motto should be, Be Happy. Laugh Always. What say you?

(Term 4 Wk 2, 15/9 - 19/9)

"They just need a child to love them." ...

Well, that was what the movie "The Forgotten Toys" was about. I believe you have been touched by the storyline of two abandoned toys who were searching for a child to love and care for them. Even if you have not, you should take away the message that we should treat our toys well. Before you discard it away, think about how else you can dispose your toy. Sometimes, by donating it away, you might be passing the joy of owning a toy to the other person.

Movie aside. You have learnt 'Adjectival Clause' and 'Connectors of Contrast'. Both are useful grammar items that offers you another variety of writing. Let's recall what they are;

(EL TB5B, p61-62)
Adjectival Clause: Provides information abotu the noun that comes before it. Usually, the clause begins with a relative pronoun such as 'who', 'whose', 'whom', 'which' or 'that'.

Ahmad threw away the cup that had a lizard in it.
Lilin has a good friend who is the prefect from the next class.

(EL TB5B, p81)
Connectors of Contrast: Use to show how at least two different ideas, actions or situations are linked in a sentence. Examples include 'but', 'yet', 'however', 'although', 'even though' and more.

Grandma cannot understand English but she enjoys watching High School Musical.
Although Raj had finished class, he had to stay in school for his CCA.

You have also learnt about the introduction to Forces. So for the coming weeks, we will be looking at the different types of simple machines involving force.

Draw with precision and accuracy. Label the points, lengths and angles!
Well well. These are the key notes that I told you when we started on the new topic 'Geometrical Construction' in Mathematics. You have remember the key notes and keep practising to master the topic.

I will end here. Do note to start your revision for year-end exams. Seek clarification if you have any. Take care of your health and maintain good personal hygiene.

Work for the weekend.

1. EL - U10 WS
2. MA - Topic 13 Pract 1 pg135 - 138.
3. SCI - Reading: Chp 14 - Small Force, Great Job.
4. Journal - 'My Forgotten Toy' or 'Freestyle' (at least a page!)
5. (Parents & You) Pls note that there is no Structured Prog this coming Monday.

Lastly, rest well... ... OH! Smile always too! ;>

(Term 4 Wk 1, 8/9 - 12/9)

Hihi everyone!

Welcome back to school! We are now in the last term of the year. Time really flies and we must really make good use of it. Well well... let's recall what we have done in those four days of school.

For EL, we have started on the new topic "Making Movies". A movie does not refer to only the actors or actresses. Beside that, a movie crew includes the director, producer, sound effect specialists, stuntman, extras and many more. Also, we have done a continuous writing and one situational writing. Lots of writing!

Sum of angles in a triangle is 180°. Right-angled triangle, isosceles triangle or equilateral triangle. Do not forget the properties of triangles in the latest Mathematics Topic. That's right, you must remember the concepts well and continue your practice using the TB.

We also learnt about Forces under Science. Actions can that cause a non-living thing to move, change direction, shape, sizes or speed are examples where a force is applied. Recall the use of the rubber ball to understand what a force is.

Can you also remember the story that I said on Wednesday? The title was "Dislike to Thankful: A Change of Heart". For everything that you experience, try to understand the good intention behind it. This helps you to develop as an thinking individual. You can also become a stronger person, mentally of course.

Not to forget, I had also shown you the class photos. Seek your parents permission and let me know your order on Monday.

Let's take a look at the work for FRIDAY, 12/9, and perhaps, weekend:

1. EL: U9 WS
2. MA: Properties of Triangle (Diagnostic Test 1)
3. MA: Revision 1 (5A AB), pg173-186.
4. SCI: Read through Topic 13.
5. Journal: "A Change of Heart" (suggested topic) OR Freestyle

That should keep you occupied on the Friday. So, a gentle reminder for Monday:

* Structured Programme [1.30pm - 3.30pm]
* Class photo order

Alright, rest well then. :>

(Term 3 Wk10, 25/8 - 29/8)

What a bang to end off the last week of Term 3! And I really mean bang... the shouts (or I should call it 'shocks') that everyone gave me as I entered the classroom on Friday... my heart was really banged. Not once, but twice was my heart shook with surprises and excitement. The mind was blown off... the heart was touched ... every thought and action ... I WAS LOSS FOR WORDS! Till now as I am typing this post, I cannot find the adjectives to describe my feelings nor the experience for that day. I will never forget that day... in fact, the time (since day 1) I get to spend with 5RS. (for once, ignore my grammar: 5RS, u guyz ROCKz!) Many thanks for what you've done. You really make my day!

As I reach for tissue papers to clear my teary eyes (kidding!), let's have a look at some pictures that were taken on Friday's Teacher's Day Celebration.

Aces' Day Exercise... Exercise begin.

Turn to your left... Smilez!

Concert Time! Entertaining Music.
Wooo.. why weren't you looking at the stage?

Hey, who's not paying attention to the performers!

Dancing to the music...or was it simply
moving to the music?

Time flies and it will not wait for anyone. Make good use of the one-week holiday and do what you need to do. Take a break or revise your work. You shall take charge of your time. What comes next will be term 4, the last stage of learning and preparation for the final year exams. Go through the textbooks for re-learning and practise the work (from WS) again. You can also read up on the topics that have not been taught. No matter what you do, make full use of the time. Not to forget, reflect on what you've done. Think and plan how you can change yourself, improve yourself. These will include your school work, values that you have, how you treat your friends/teachers/family members, your dreams, your targets ... ... and many more.

Life is beautiful. It is how you want to see it. That's why I choose to be happy, smile always.

In case you forget, I will recommend the following to occupy some of your time during the hols.

1. EL - Vocab 2 (watch out for answers under comment section fr Wednesday onwards)
2. EL/MA/SCI - TB reading and revising
3. Journal - At least one entry. (Suggested topic: 'For myself, I will do it')
4. Read newspapers & watch the news, do some drawings.
5. Be happy, smile at the mirror. (Believe me! U will b happy because u will laugh at yourself.)

Alright, I will stop here because I need to go and clear my table... so messy!

A messy table!

Mood: Feel so happy and refreshed. I had a good sleep. Did you?

Oops. Lastly, one short clip by the performers. Pardon me for the soft volume. Cheerios!
